’Borrowing something from someone without their consent, accidentally breaking it and trying to repair it, hoping they won’t notice’

A series of sculptures exploring natural phenomena alongside human-made techniques.Working with the combination of carving texture and sculpting I experiment with repeating textures, seeking a balance within the contradiction between deliberate intention and accidental beauty. The sculpting intention draws inspiration from the traces left by beaver carvings, these marks holdsculptural and artistic value for me; they often rise from the forest floor, still attached to tree trunks, almost as if displayed on pedestals. This contrasts with the practical purpose of felling a tree orbranch. This fantasy I create around their traces is what I aim to use in my work. Creating sculptures thatpossess function but hold accidental beauty left by the process.
