This series of carved works, presented in a painting format, explores the visual possibilities of my carvingtechniques. In contrast to my sculptural pieces, these carved paintings are made from multiplex sheetmaterial, which I manipulate by exposing its layers and grain directions. By gluing shapes and exposing theunderlying layers, the result is both figurative in formand abstract in its background and tactile qualities.
